The school caters to pupils aged 11–16, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). About the Role: The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and personally. Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals, the SEN Teaching Assistant will contribute to the delivery of a differentiated curriculum, tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEND, helping them to overcome barriers to learning. Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons and classroom activities, ensuring materials are adapted to suit varying needs. Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Encourage the development of pupils’ social skills, independence, and self-esteem. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and support pupils’ progress. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN or similar setting. A caring and empathetic nature, with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs. The ability to act as a positive role model, promoting respect, resilience, and confidence.
