We have a vacancy for a part-time Family Links Worker to join the Family Links Service. This is a 24-hour post, worked over 3 days.
This is a dual role, offering variety to the successful candidate. You will provide supervised family time for children who are unable to live within their own family and also produce Life Story Books for children with a care plan of adoption.
You will need experience working with challenging families, acting on your own initiative to safeguard children. You should have experience working directly with children and families, including those who may be vulnerable or have experienced neglect or abuse.
Knowledge of the child’s journey through the care system and the ability to translate this into child-friendly language is essential, along with the ability to write concise, professional reports suitable for court presentation.
You will support vulnerable children, young people, and their families, promoting positive relationships during decision-making regarding future care plans. Excellent observation, communication skills, and IT literacy are required, along with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
A Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant field such as Child Development, Health, Education, Early Years, or Social Work is necessary. You should be able to work independently, use your initiative, and have a flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekend work (around 3 times a year).
Driving license and access to a car are required for travel across the county. You should be highly motivated, committed to delivering excellent service, and willing to undertake further training as needed.
