Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Relief HGV Driver/Van Driver in Pinner Branch
The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled HGV Relief Driver/Van Driver to join our team. To provide safe, efficient, and timely delivery and collection of building materials to customers and sites, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with all legal and company requirements. Act as relief cover for HGV deliveries as required, and operate vans for smaller deliveries. When not needed for driving you will be supporting in the yard.
Responsibilities:
Driving & Deliveries
* Operate HGV (Class 2 ) vehicles and company vans in line with road traffic laws and company policies.
* Deliver building materials, including timber, bricks, cement, and other merchant stock, to trade and retail customers.
* Load and unload goods safely, using HIAB crane equipment where trained and authorised.
* Check delivery paperwork and ensure goods match orders before departure.
* Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in good condition, with customer signatures obtained.

Vehicle & Equipment Care*
* Conduct daily vehicle checks and complete defect reporting.
* Keep vehicles clean, roadworthy, and compliant with all safety regulations.
* Report any incidents, accidents, or maintenance issues promptly.

Requirements:*

* Hold a valid HGV Licence
* Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role
* Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
* Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Desirable
* HIAB or crane operation certification.
* Knowledge of building materials.
* Previous builders merchant or construction delivery experience.
The Hours
Week:1 Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:15
Week:2 Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:15 Saturday 08:00-12:00
