Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Early Years Team. We are on the lookout for a part-time Childcare Leader to join us. This position is a fixed-term contract of 20 hours per week, running until 31st March 2026. We need this position filled to ensure we meet Flying Start guidance, Childcare Regulations, and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) National Minimum Standards. The role reports to the Parc Y Felin setting, with potential to support other Flying Start settings across the Caerphilly Borough.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of a childcare setting and manage a team of dedicated childcare staff.
* Lead and inspire a team to deliver high-quality childcare services.
* Foster strong relationships with parents/carers and children.
* Monitor attendance and take-up rates to ensure optimal engagement.
* Ensure all legislative requirements and standards for registered childcare provision are met.
* Create a respectful and inclusive environment for all children.
* Support children with additional and emerging needs.
* Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver the programme.
* Work primarily at the Parc Y Felin setting, with availability to support other Flying Start settings across the Caerphilly Borough.
Qualifications
* A level 5 qualification in Childcare Learning and Development (CC L5).
* A CACHE Level 3 Diploma Early Years and Childcare qualification or similar relevant qualification.
* Current Paediatric First Aid certificate.
* At least 2 years post-qualification experience of working with children aged under 4 years in a childcare provision.

Salary and Benefits
We pay an attractive salary of £14,992 - £16,730 (Level 3 - Grade 7) / £16,835 - £18,170 (Level 5 - Grade 8) and offer access to training and development opportunities. We have excellent benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme, agile working patterns and staff discount schemes.
