ROLE: Shift Mechanical Engineer
SHIFT: Day shift - 0600 - 1800, Night Shift 18:00-0600 Week 1 - 4 nights, 3 off Week 2 - 3 days 1 off 3 nights Week 3 - 3 off, 4 days Week 4 - 7 off
LOCATION: Ellesmere Port

Responsibilities
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete all required paperwork.
* Respond to reactive and emergency breakdowns, ensuring accurate documentation.
* Assist other team members as directed by the Supervisor or Contract Manager.
* Ensure all tasks are completed within contractual time scales.
* Proactively support energy-reduction initiatives on site.
* Supervise visiting sub-contractors, ensuring high standards and Health & Safety compliance.
* Adopt a flexible attitude to support additional properties when required.
* Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
* Work safely, diligently, and in line with company policies and procedures.
* Participate fully in training and appraisal activities.
* Undertake additional duties in line with capability as required.
Qualifications
* City & Guilds Level II/III (or equivalent) in relevant mechanical disciplines.
* Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault-finding on a range of equipment including boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, batteries, and lighting systems.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
* Proactive approach with strong customer-care focus.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to diagnose, anticipate, and repair faults.
* Capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and promptly.
