About the Role:
Can you maintain tools, machinery, and equipment to keep lessons safe, efficient, and engaging?
As a D&T Technician, you’ll support staff and students across woodwork, resistant materials, CAD/CAM, and product design. You’ll ensure a well-organised, safe, and inspiring learning environment where students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and maintain tools, machines, and materials for lessons
* Support staff and students in-class, ensuring safe, effective workshop practice
* Carry out safety checks and minor equipment repairs
* Manage stock, resources, and workshop organisation
* Assist with risk assessments and ensure full compliance with health & safety standards
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience as a D&T Technician, Workshop Technician, or in carpentry, joinery, fabrication, or engineering
* Practical experience handling resistant materials such as wood, metal, or plastics
* Strong practical skills and confidence with hand tools and machinery
* Awareness of, or experience with, workshop health & safety procedures (PUWER, COSHH, PPE)
* Organised, proactive, and flexible with a “can-do” attitude
* Relevant qualifications or training in design/technology desirable
* Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one
