We’re looking for a Student Support Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Harrow, supporting students who need a little extra help to stay engaged and succeed in class. About the Role You’ll be part of the school’s support team, working with students aged 11–16 across a range of subjects. The role is varied and rewarding — one day you might be helping a Year 7 student settle into secondary life, the next supporting GCSE learners to stay focused and motivated. Your day-to-day will include: Providing 1:1 and small-group academic support in core subjects Supporting students with additional learning or social, emotional needs Helping to maintain a calm, positive learning environment Assisting teachers in delivering tailored interventions Encouraging independence, participation, and progress We’re Looking For Someone Who: Has experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, youth work, or mentoring) Communicates confidently with teenagers and staff Can build strong, positive relationships quickly Stays calm, patient, and professional under pressure Is passionate about education and helping every student thrive Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or behaviour needs is ideal — but not essential.
