The Role:
The College is seeking a highly motivated individual to teach and assess practical hard and soft landscape skills to groups of mixed ability students as part of their animal management course.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your teaching expertise and educate the next generation of animal carers in areas such as construction, maintenance, and repair of boundaries, structures, and surfaces, health and safety, and animal enclosure maintenance, for their Estate skills module.
You will be expected to deliver exceptional practical teaching using a range of equipment and contribute to the management of the zoo and companion animal site.
As an instructor, you will also have input into animal enclosure design and landscaping of the zoo site. We aim to increase biodiversity in the area and welcome your ideas on achieving this. You will also share responsibility for a workshop, including tool and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience:
* We welcome applicants with general construction, fencing, landscaping, and habitat management skills, and some supervisory or teaching experience.
* A qualification in a relevant subject at National Diploma level or higher is desirable.
* The ideal candidate will hold or be willing to attain an appropriate teaching qualification.
