Sheffield
Marchant Recruitment

Offer description

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

Are you an ambitious SENCO ready to lead inclusion in a busy Sheffield school from January 2026? A forward-thinking primary in Sheffield is seeking a SENCO to champion personalised learning and embed evidence-led intervention across the school.

The successful SENCO will chair statutory review meetings, develop robust provision maps and ensure all staff adopt consistent, high-quality strategies to support learners with additional needs. This SENCO role involves strategic oversight—setting priorities for SEND spending and reporting directly to governors—together with active case management and liaison with Sheffield’s local services. The post begins January 2026, with induction and partnership-building sessions arranged prior to the spring term.

The SENCO will be tasked with improving outcomes through targeted programmes, auditing provision and measuring impact through rigorous data collection. The school expects the SENCO to lead training, mentor colleagues and to promote inclusive practice across all year groups in Sheffield.

Key responsibilities

* Devise and deliver a school-wide SEND improvement plan aligned to whole-school priorities.
* Manage EHCP processes, chair reviews and coordinate multi-agency casework.
* Evaluate intervention impact and reallocate resources to maximise pupil progress.
* Deliver high-quality staff development to ensure consistent inclusive teaching across the school.
* Liaise with governors, leaders and Sheffield-based support services to drive accountability.

Person specification

* Experienced teacher with recognised SENCO training or equivalent leadership experience.
* Confident in statutory SEND processes, data evaluation and managing complex caseloads.
* Excellent organisational skills, resilience and the ability to lead change across a school community.
* Empathetic and professional when working with families and external professionals.
* Able to take up post in January 2026 and to work within the Sheffield locality.

To be considered for this SENCO position, please forward a CV as soon as possible.
