The Telephony Engineer role sits at the heart of the ICT team, helping to improve and maintain smooth, reliable communication across the business — both internally and with external partners. Working closely with the Unified Communications Architect and other key stakeholders, the analyst helps ensure our telecoms systems are well-configured, up to date, and running seamlessly so that information can flow where it's needed, without friction.
The Telephony Engineer is responsible for planning, setting up, managing, and supporting the communication tools that keep the organization connected — from voice systems to messaging and collaboration platforms. They work closely with IT teams, operational leads, and end users to make sure everything runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently, always aiming to improve performance and create a better user experience.
Their platform captures the carbon and cost savings our customers achieve — giving them clear data and actionable insights while helping them meet their sustainability goals.
Telephony Engineer
£55,000 per annum
Hybrid working: 3 days in Basildon
Key skills needed for this Telephony Engineer role:
• Planning and implementing UC systems (VoIP, SIP, messaging), integrated with CRM.
• Monitoring system performance, applying updates, supporting upgrades.
• Integrating UC tools with Microsoft 365, AD, and CRM — driving continuous improvement.
• Managing vendors, licenses, and technical escalations.
• Maintaining documentation (CMDB), supporting user training and adoption.
• AWS Telephony/AWS Connect experience, as well as knowledge of Gamma Inbound.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Teams UCX.
• Meta/WhatsApp and SMS Principles.
• PCI SSD Knowledge
