About us:
We are the Information Intelligence Group (IIG) of CACI UK, a specialist technical consultancy providing bespoke solutions to solve complex operational problems. Due to some exciting growth within our Central Government business, we are interested in speaking with an experienced Senior Devops Engineer.
Role Location:
You can work from any of our 6 offices in the UK (including Bristol, Cheltenham & London) or from home, you decide. The role will however require you visit London based customers Bi-Weekly.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building and evolving our AWS cloud infrastructure and ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities will Include:
1. Designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS
2. Deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters. Familiarity with related technologies such as Docker and Helm.
3. Developing and implementing automated tools and processes for building, deployment, monitoring, testing and maintenance of infrastructure and applications
4. Developing and maintaining policies and procedures for security, compliance, and disaster recovery
5. Optimise infrastructure for high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency
6. Continuously monitor and improve infrastructure and application performance
7. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues
8. Manage and mentor junior DevOps engineers
The Fit:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS services, automation tools, and DevOps practices. We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology, enjoys problem-solving, and has a collaborative mindset. Additional skills include:
9. Extensive experience of deploying cloud platforms at scale using AWS Organisations / Control Tower / Landing Zones
10. Expert level experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Ansible, CloudFormation or Terraform
11. Extensive background in Configuration Management and Automation
12. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration
13. Expert level experience in AWS Networking / TCP / Firewalls / Certs
14. Advanced proficiency with containers and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
15. Observability champion, experience of designing and building monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, ELK, and Grafana
16. Programming skills in at least one language, preferably Python or Go
17. Strong scripting skills in Bash, JavaScript or similar Knowledge of SecDevOps security best practices and experience implementing security controls in a cloud environment including SIEM, Guard Duty, Shield, Inspector and Security Hub
18. Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and management
19. Best practice configuration of Identity and Access Management and IAM Identity Centre
Due to the industries we work in, we require the successful candidate to be able to obtain high level security clearance. To qualify for this, you must be a British citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
