Role Overview
Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation? We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You’ll collaborate with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to implement significant legislative reforms. You can make a tangible difference.
Ideal candidates will be adaptable, self-motivated, and capable of translating policy into action.
Key responsibilities include:
* Working closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation for workstreams such as Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, with support for other areas as needed.
* Providing technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
* Driving reforms in waste management to change how waste is managed in England, including shaping digital systems for waste management or delving into policy development.
Our team is dispersed and collaborates across the country using smart tools to stay connected. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
The Team
You’ll join our Producer Responsibility Team, which leads the reform of Waste Regulations to help achieve government ambitions for resource conservation and waste minimization.

Additional Information
You will have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan. Appropriate training will be provided. The role is flexible/hybrid with an EA Office base location. Some travel and overnight stays may be necessary.
