KeyDuties/Accountabilities:
Often querieswill involve several departments and liaison between alldepartments isneeded.
The roleincludes carrying out adult social care financial assessments toascertain how much someone can contribute towards their care gatherfinancial details and expenditure dealing with queries in writingand over the phone liaising with several departments within theLocal Authority and externalagencies.
Advising theservice user what benefits they may be entitled to and if adeferred payment arrangementapplies.
It s a busyteam and officers need to adapt their day to deal with urgent /priority cases and take phonecalls.
EssentialExperienceRequired:
Experience incarrying out adult social care financial assessments Or HousingBenefit officers with a broad experience of giving advice inWelfareBenefits.
Experience indealing with review requests complaints andqueries.
Experience inmanaging a caseload and prioritisingcases.
Experience inusingMosaic.
