In this highly collaborative role, you will work closely with key stakeholders to understand service enhancements and requirements, ensuring the delivery of a business-critical service while driving continuous improvements across all key areas.
What you'll get up to
As the Technical Lead for Currency Services, you will define the technical vision, roadmap, and strategy in collaboration with the Service Owner and key technical stakeholders, including Core Engineering and Architecture. You will work closely with other Tech Leads to establish and uphold best practices across all business services teams, ensuring operational excellence, quality, reliability, and security. Your role will involve providing technical guidance to align engineering efforts with business objectives, while also ensuring robust testing, security, and deployment processes to maintain service reliability and performance. Additionally, you will facilitate and enforce coding standards, architectural principles, and development best practices to ensure a high-quality, maintainable, and efficient codebase. Taking ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs), you will drive improvements in operability, observability, and scalability.
Beyond technical leadership, you will foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the team. 2. Experience designing, building, and maintaining microservice-based applications and working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
3. Proficient with configuration management and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
4. Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and work with version control systems (e.g., BitBucket, GitHub).

We expect you'll achieve a 50/ 50 split between the two and there may be times where you'll want to visit our other locations to tell their stories, too (fully reimbursed).
We might not be right for you if:
9. You only want to focus on your to-do list; we're a small, high-performing team, we help each other to succeed.
10. You value perfection over fast iteration and progress; IAG Loyalty moves fast, we learn and iterate as we go; our environment isn't right for everyone.
11. You're looking to create but not build; this is an end-to-end role, you need to be comfortable owning your space, from ideation through to delivery and review.
If you think you have what it takes but don't meet every single point above, please do still apply. We'd love to chat and see if you could be a great fit.
