We have an exciting opportunity for a Buying Manager to join our Healthcare/Pharmacy team here at Asda House. As a Pharmacy Buying Manager, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a patient focused commercial strategy that drives sustainable growth and delivers against business plan targets. You will work collaboratively with key suppliers, wholesalers and internal stakeholders to deliver sales, pricing and market share growth, while maintaining full ownership of the category P&L. This is a highly strategic and commercially complex role, requiring strong understanding of the pharmacy landscape, including NHS reimbursement and evolving customer needs. You will lead supplier negotiations, develop compelling customer propositions and ensure Asda Pharmacy continues to offer great value and accessibility for patients. You will also play a key role in growing our Asda Online Doctor proposition, with a particular focus on expanding the weight loss (GLP-1) category and strengthening our market leading position. What you’ll do Own and deliver the Asda Pharmacy commercial strategy, ensuring a patient focused offer Deliver sales and profit performance, including full P&L ownership, forecasting and business planning Lead and develop a small team, including Pharmacy Stock Analyst and Trading Assistant Drive availability through strong collaboration with Supply teams and supplier partners Define and execute supplier strategy, including relationship management, tenders and commercial negotiations Maintain a strong external perspective on the pharmacy market, including NHS changes, to identify risks and opportunities Own ranging, pricing and marketing plans for Asda Online Doctor, with a focus on accelerating growth in GLP-1 and expanding market share Partner with Marketing to deliver impactful campaigns that drive performance and brand awareness both in store and externally Deliver EDLC (Everyday Low Cost) initiatives to improve efficiency and profitability across commercial decisions and store processes Support innovation and growth through new store development and trial initiatives, working closely with Change and Operations Collaborate cross functionally with Compliance, Operations and Field teams to ensure safe, effective delivery About you Preferable previous experience in a Buying Manager or similar commercial role Preferable but not essential knowledge of the pharmacy industry, including NHS reimbursement and wholesaler models Proven commercial trading experience with strong P&L management capability Strong awareness of patients needs, market trends and competitor activity Ability to identify strategic opportunities and develop innovative propositions Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with experience managing branded supplier relationships Experience leading and developing teams Highly analytical, with the ability to manage complexity and make data led decisions Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to navigate a fast moving and complex category Everything you'll love To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices.
