Are you a technically strong IT leader ready to shape and drive the technology strategy of a growing business?
HW Interim Solutions are seeking a Head of IT to join our client’s leadership team and take ownership of the technology landscape during an exciting period of expansion and digital transformation. This will initially be offered on an interim contract.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real strategic influence. You’ll be responsible for evaluating and enhancing the entire IT environment—from infrastructure and applications to vendor relationships. Your mission: to create a scalable, streamlined tech ecosystem that supports operational excellence and fuels future growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the full IT landscape and set direction across infrastructure, systems, and services.
* Evaluate and improve network architecture, service provider relationships, and back-office systems.
* Document current (“as-is”) systems and define the future-state (“to-be”) architecture.
* Lead the configuration and implementation of fit-for-purpose applications that boost efficiency.
* Manage third-party IT providers, ensuring delivery aligns with business goals.
* Support new product and service launches from a technology perspective.
* Champion digital transformation, using technology to future-proof the business.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven senior IT leadership experience, ideally in a fast-paced, evolving business.
* Strong technical expertise across infrastructure, systems architecture, and enterprise applications.
* Strategic mindset combined with hands-on experience implementing and configuring systems.
* In-depth knowledge of complex back-office environments and how to simplify them.
* Excellent documentation, planning, and execution skills with a track record in transformation.
* Experience managing external vendors and technology partners.
* A collaborative, commercially minded approach with the ability to translate tech into business value.
This role is offered initially as an interim contract, with potential to become permanent. The client is based in the north of England and this will be a role that requires time on site.
