Overview of the job
This is a Divisional HQ first line management role reporting to the Deputy Director NPS. Leading and managing a team of business administrators to deliver business-specific and transactional office-based activities to support the work of the NPS Division.
Responsible for coordinating and allocating work across the team, taking into account current workload, skills, and knowledge of individual team members.
Summary
The purpose of the role is to lead and manage the divisional administrative function and to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Support Hub, which provides the full set of business support services to the NPS Division. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities, Activities & Duties
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities, and duties:
Business Services support
* Manage a team providing the full set of business support services to the NPS Division, including HR, ICT, procurement, and general office administration.
* Leadership and development of administrative staff, supporting operational delivery.
* Liaising with Divisional colleagues to understand service requirements and develop solutions.
* Oversee workflow, allocate tasks, and ensure performance standards.
* Implement administrative systems and procedural changes.
* Coordinate with the Shared Service Centre for administrative hand-offs.
* Participate in recruitment, selection, and induction of staff.
* Manage office facilities and ensure health and safety compliance.
Resource Management
* Agree budgets and manage expenditures.
* Provide unit costings and advise on financial issues.
Staff Management and Development
* Manage staff performance, address issues, and conduct appraisals.
* Handle HR policies and resolve conflicts.
Communication and Personal Development
* Provide feedback, influence, and participate in meetings.
* Manage personal resources and professional growth.
Information Management and Decision Making
* Analyze data, develop systems, and prepare reports.
* Use information to inform decisions and improve performance.
Diversity and Quality
* Promote equality and diversity.
* Implement related policies and collaborate with the Equalities and Diversity Unit.
