Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.02 an hour; this increases to £13.15 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location and skills.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.
The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work – the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times you’re available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, we’d still love to hear from you. Responsibilities:
* Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
* Being knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
* Working across the store in our service, picking, and replenishment areas where required.
* Practicing safety, effectiveness, and excellent customer service based on training.
* Making customer-centric decisions, delivering store routines that meet customer needs.
* Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Understanding store performance and contributing to driving service, sales, and profit.
* Handling products with care to maintain quality.
* Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
* Accepting deliveries into the store when required.
Minimum Requirements:
* A passion for delivering great service with a friendly attitude.
* The ability to build rapport and ensure a positive shopping experience.
* Initiative and decision-making skills for customer benefit.
* Teamwork and open communication with colleagues.
* Punctuality, good presentation, and being a brand ambassador.
