The Role: Part Time Retail Sales Representative for General Mills & Blue Buffalo - Peterborough - 17 HRS/WEEK
Rate: $22.00/hour + Mileage Reimbursement
Our client is General Mills, whose brands such as Cheerios, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Old El Paso and Yoplait & Liberte Yogurt are enjoyed in more than 100 countries on six continents. Blue Buffalo Pet Foods is also a part of the General Mills family. They are a healthy pet food brand with a core belief: "Love them like family. Feed them like family." Your role is to identify business development opportunities to drive sales within an assigned geographical territory.
What You’ll Be Doing Every Day
* Represent General Mills and Blue Buffalo in a professional manner by providing retail customers with the best service
* Work with your Manager to set territory goals based on company objectives and develop strategies to meet or establish targets such as:
o Develop customer relations to become a trusted advisor
o Introduce new products and promotional events into the market
o Leverage selling skills to solicit orders for account bookings and allocation
o Close distribution gaps by confirming correct shelf tags are present in compliance with account listings & store planograms
o Ensure supply availability through merchandising products and checking order/inventory status
o Negotiate space and build Gold Standard displays to maximize points of interruption and confirm and correct previously agreed display implementations
o Use sales tools to identify opportunities & gaps and determine action plans to drive sales, improve distribution, recognize underperforming categories and increase overall profitability in your territory
o Recognize and utilize regional sales trends to maximize in-store performance
o Provide feedback and insight on retail conditions and issues as they are encountered
o Other duties as required
Your Experience
* Ideally 1-3 years of territory sales and merchandising experience in CPG
* Superior communication and presentation skills
* Bilingual (French/English)
* Amazing relationship building skills
* Strong selling skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to influence/lead change
* Strong personal drive, positive attitude and excellent problem‑solving skills are essential
* Aptitude for fast learning, careful strategic planning and ability to self‑support with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment
