Purpose
Responsible for planning, delivery, and monitoring of complex engineering change initiatives (with a strong focus on Smart Metering and Utilities projects). The role ensures that technical projects are successfully delivered by converting high-level programme plans into detailed technical delivery plans, coordinating system integrators and internal engineering resources.
Accountabilities
7. Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex Engineering programmes, ensuring they meet scope, time, and budget constraints.
8. Develop and implement Engineering programme and project management frameworks, processes, and best practices.
9. Identify, assess, and manage programme and project risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
10. Provide regular programme status updates to senior management and stakeholders.
11. Ensure alignment of programmes and projects with organisational strategy and objectives.
12. Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication to ensure buy-in and support for initiatives.
13. Monitor and control Engineering programme and project performance, ensuring delivery of expected benefits.
14. Conduct programme and project reviews, capturing lessons learned and driving improvements.
15. Lead the utilisation of project management tools and methodologies to ensure consistency and efficiency.
16. Provide thought leadership through programme management expertise and act as an SME for the team
17. Own relationships with suppliers in this ecosystem and peers in the industry

18. Project management - ability to manage one or multiple projects or project tasks and meet deadlines
19. Project planning - ability to create project schedules, allocate resources, define milestones and track progress
20. Risk management & QA - ability to identify and mitigate potential risks, and implement quality control processes
21. Analytical and technical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
22. Time management - ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
23. Communication skills - collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical info and provide training or support
24. Innovation & CI - ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement
25. Budget management - ability to effectively manage project and team budgets.
26. Relationship management - ability to foster relationships (and network) with external vendors, suppliers, industry peers, etc.
Knowledge & Qualifications
27. Substantial experience in programme management, project management or a related role
28. Substantial experience of engineering systems and infrastructure, ideally in an Arqiva domain/platform (. transmission)
29. Extensive knowledge of programme and project management methodologies, tools, software, and best practices.
30. In-depth understanding of waterfall and agile methodologies.
31. A degree (or equivalent experience) in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is advantageous. Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or Programme Management Professional (PgMP) certification is a plus.
