About the Role
We are currently seeking a committed individual to join our children's residential homes service as a Night Care Assistant to help provide care and support for up to 4 young people aged 11-18. The home specifically provides accommodation for young people with emotional / behavioural difficulties. Duties include caring for young people, tending to their needs, completing records and some domestic duties. Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be flexible and available to work on a four week rota working 148 hours. A typical shift will be from 10pm till 8am. The candidate must be willing to work bank holidays, Christmas holidays and willing to work weekends and have the ability to lone work with young people.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
1. An understanding of Children’s needs and rights
2. Have an understanding of child protection issues and ensuring safety
3. Have an understanding of a practical and sensible approach to the safety and security of the building and equipment
4. Ability to respond sensitively to the physical and emotional needs of young people with a wide range of learning disabilities
5. Ability to manage challenging behaviour
6. The ability to form constructive relationships with young people
7. Be willing to complete the level three diploma in residential care with in two years of commencing employment.
