We have a strong pipeline of work and we are in a position to grow our team to enhance our capability and strengthen our service offering, particularly in substation detailed design and design assurance. We are recruiting NG BP141 (previously TP141) authorised engineers across all disciplines to join our vibrant team.
Disciplines: Commissioning Officer | Protection & Control | HV Plant | Civils.
Contract Types: Full-Time | Part-Time | Contract Roles.
Location: flexible, with core offices in Epsom, Birmingham, Leeds.
Your purpose
* Lead and execute works under National Grid BP141 authorisations, ensuring full compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
* Coordinate and deliver testing and commissioning activities across Protection & Control, HV Plant, Civils, and other relevant disciplines.
* Interface with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and safe delivery of works.
* Review and validate technical documentation, commissioning plans, and test results.
* Maintain accurate records of site activities, authorisations, and safety documentation.
* Champion a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement across all engineering activities.
What you can bring
* Valid BP141 authorisation, or demonstrable experience working towards authorisation in any of the disciplines: Commissioning Officer, Protection & Control, HV Plant, or Civil Engineering.
* Strong understanding of National Grid safety rules, operational procedures, and site protocols.
* Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings, schematics, and commissioning documentation.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
* Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in engineering delivery.
* Flexibility to work across different locations and project types, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.

Security clearance
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
