With exciting growth plans, our client is recruiting for a Financial Controller to join the team in Park Royal, Northwest London, with Hybrid working available. This would be a great opportunity for an individual who has worked in a similar role previously, or someone who has some management experience and is looking for a step up into a more senior finance leadership role.
Job Description
You will be a key strategic and operational force supporting the Finance Director, bringing a commercial lens to finance, and empowering the finance team to scale with the business. You will champion clarity in financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and ensure our systems and people are ready for the next phase of growth. You'll also be a cross-functional leader, building strong bridges between Finance, Operations, Marketing and Commercial teams.Leadership & Strategy* Partner with the Finance Director to shape the financial and operational strategy across multiple entities and geographies* Drive cross-functional initiatives, align finance with business priorities, and serve as a sounding board to senior leadersFinancial Oversight & Performance* Deliver accurate, insightful, and timely management accounts and KPI reports that influence informed decision-making.* Oversee all month-end processes, journal entries, and reconciliations across multiple divisions and systems.* Ensure financial integrity by owning ERP postings, control accounts, and year-end procedures through to auditHMRC Compliance* Build financial structures around operations* Ensure full compliance with HMRC excise regulations and manage all submissions, including VAT, duty, and audit trails.* Build financial models and structuresERP & Systems* Lead on ERP (Tropos/Kinetic) - managing implementation, troubleshooting, and reportingTeam Leadership & Development* Inspire, coach, and empower your team to be the best they can be.* Create a high-trust environment with a strong performance culture and opportunities for cross-functional development.* Upskill the team to build resilience, knowledge-sharing, and future-ready capabilities.Payroll & People Costing* Lead payroll cost accounting and allocation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.* Reconciliation and analysis of staff costs.Stakeholder Engagement* Be the face of Finance to internal and external stakeholders-auditors, tax advisors, HMRC-ensuring transparency, trust, and timely compliance.* Work closely with FP&A and other business units to deliver commercial value from financial data.
The Successful Applicant
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong technical and commercial foundation.* Proven experience leading and developing finance teams in high-growth environments.* Strong ERP knowledge, ideally Tropos and/or Kinetic, with a passion for systems optimisation.* Hands-on experience with month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting.* Understanding of HMRC reporting requirements
