The Shrubberies Medical Practice located in South Woodford, North‑East London is looking for a salaried GP to work 4‑6 sessions per week, mainly on Tuesdays and Fridays. We are a friendly, team‑focused practice that values training and continuous development. Our team includes 2 partners, a range of doctors, a pharmacist, a nurse practitioner, a physiotherapist, a practice nurse and a phlebotomist. We receive full support from reception, administrative and management staff. List size is 9,000+ and growing, and we use GMS and Emis Web. We are part of a PCN collaborating with local practices to deliver high‑quality primary care, while maintaining traditional general practice values and adapting to the evolving primary care landscape.
Responsibilities
* Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
* A commitment to life‑long learning and audit to ensure evidence‑based best practice.
* Contributing to evaluation, audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
* Contributing to the development of computer‑based patient records.
* Contributing to the summarising of patient records and read‑coding patient data.
* Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
* Maintaining a good working relationship with staff, doctors and patients; reflecting on own and team activities to suggest improvements and enhance performance.
Confidentiality and Policies
* Respect the privacy of patients and act with confidentiality, ensuring compliance with data protection, health & safety, and prescribing guidelines.
* Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient, staff, and business information, disclosing only to authorised persons according to practice policies.
Requirements
* GMC Registered, MBBS or equivalent medical degree, inclusion on the Performers List, medical indemnity, experience in British and Primary Care Systems, and Enhanced DBS check.
* Willingness to complete appropriate training for appraisal, remain up to date with the GP Appraisal, relicensing and revalidation agenda.
* Ability to work in a highly confidential environment and undertake continuing professional development.
* Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, face‑to‑face and active listening – coupled with the ability to work as part of a team and sensitivity to patient issues.
