Protocol Education is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join a SEND provision in Rainham, Essex.
The students attending are aged between 16-19 years, with a variety of special needs, including ASD/Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH), and complex learning disabilities. Experience is not necessary, but a desire to assist in this area is required!
In this role, you will utilize your knowledge of learning support, communication skills, and creativity to develop varied approaches to help pupils with Special Education Needs and Disabilities understand information and support them throughout their education.
The role includes:
* Supervising pupils to ensure their safety and access to learning activities.
* Assisting them to understand presented information using various teaching aids.
* Supporting the implementation of education plans tailored to each pupil’s learning objectives.
* Building trusting relationships with pupils and communicating appropriately.
* Promoting class interaction and engagement.
* Creating an engaging environment for students.
* Ensuring their physical, social, and emotional welfare.
This is a long-term, full-time position requiring availability 5 days a week from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Experience in a school environment is not necessary; volunteer experience in youth clubs, theatre groups, or after-school clubs is also valued.

All pay rates are inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanency later.
