Supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with wide-ranging clinical interventions, as well as extensive MDT and systemic work. The post holder can expect to develop assessment, formulation, and intervention skills, as well as skills in research, audit, and service development. The team works with adults across the lifespan, providing broad lifespan experience with both working age and older adults. The diverse population at Lister Hospital offers ample opportunities to develop skills in working with diversity and interpreters.
The post holder will undertake psychological assessments of clients referred to the team, assist in analyzing and interpreting data from various sources (e.g., psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, observations, interviews), and support in developing associated formulations. They will also be involved in providing interventions to support living with long-term conditions and mental health issues.
Key skills include excellent interpersonal skills, a caring and empathic approach, and ideally prior clinical psychology experience in an acute and/or physical health environment.
Responsibilities include:
1. Performing psychological assessments using various measures and interviews with service users, family members, and involved staff.
2. Assisting in formulation and delivering intervention plans for managing service users' problems under supervision.
3. Managing clinical data collection and developing reporting methods for senior staff.
4. Supporting trust-wide initiatives to optimize patient care and working as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Minimum requirements:
* Honours degree in psychology, 2.i or above
* Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS), undergraduate research experience
* Experience working within an AMH setting
* Use of cognitive and neuropsychological assessments
* Data management skills
* Ability to maintain appropriate clinical boundaries
Desirable criteria:
* Experience with psychological assessments
* Application of psychological principles in health or social care, preferably in a clinical psychology department
* Experience working in inpatient settings
* Experience working within a multicultural framework
