Technical Specialist - Safety & Security

Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to Sales to design solutions.
* Act as Technical Design Authority (TDA) for all projects in line with core Safety & Security focus areas.
* Generate low‑level design and equipment configuration templates.
* Develop test plans and specifications for projects.
* Deliver Technical Services Consultancy days working with clients.
* Interface with relevant vendors and partners.
* Mentor and develop the safety and security engineering team.
* Deliver training and briefing sessions on solutions to the engineering team.
Key Accountabilities
* Produce comprehensive technical designs ensuring all elements meet client specifications.
* Document all designs fully to support project delivery.
* Ensure site Health & Safety compliance and escalate any immediate issues to line management.
* Provide high levels of customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
Qualifications
* 5+ years in designing, implementing, or supporting complex integrated security systems.
* Excellent understanding of Safety & Security products and technologies (Bosch, Dahau, Hikvision, Gent, Advanced, Gallagher, PAC, Win‑Pak, Veracity, Milestone, Genetec).
* Experience with Enterprise Grade VMS systems such as Milestone, Genetec, IndigoVision, Pelco, Avigilon.
* Experience with Enterprise Grade Access Control such as Gallagher, Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel.
* Experience integrating large security systems into one single pane of glass.
* Experience designing low‑level design for engineering team to follow.
* Microsoft operating systems administration knowledge.

* Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Technical expertise in core skillset areas.
* Organised and analytical with proven ability in problem solving and issue resolution.
* A flexible approach, willing to travel and ‘go the extra mile’ to meet client and internal deadlines.
* Plans and manages own daily workflow.
* Good administration skills with sound working knowledge of business systems and mainstream applications (e.g., Microsoft Office 365).
* Excellent team player and relationship builder.
* A results‑orientated ethos, able to apply knowledge and skills in the pursuit of sales objectives.
* Sound commercial awareness, knowledge of design and pricing of systems and upgrades.
Certifications/Qualifications
* Ideally qualified to diploma level.
* Cisco CCNA minimum or equivalent (Routing and Switching).
* Genetec and Gallagher certification an advantage.
* DBS clearance (for working in public sector environments).
* NPPV3 clearance for work in the emergency services sector.
* Full UK driving licence.
