Job Description
Our client are a well-established main contracting building company with a strong presence across the North West, delivering high-quality construction projects across the commercial, residential, healthcare, and education sectors.
Due to sustained growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Liverpool-based team.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial delivery of projects ranging from £1 million to £10 million in value. You will play a key role in managing project finances, mitigating risks, and ensuring profitable outcomes from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple projects
* Lead subcontractor procurement and contract administration
* Monitor and report on project profitability and cash flow
* Assess and value variations, claims, and change management
* Liaise with site teams, project managers, and external stakeholders
* Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and health & safety standards
Looking For
* Minimum 7 years' experience with a UK main contractor
* Proven track record of managing building projects up to £10 million
* Strong knowledge of JCT forms of contract
* BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction software (e.g., COINS, Viewpoint)
