Your new company We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the effective financial management, monitoring, and reporting of a varied portfolio of projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to build or continue an accounting career within a collaborative finance environment, gaining exposure to project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit activity. Your new role Working as part of a supportive finance team, you will assist with the day-to-day financial administration and control of project and departmental finances. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely invoicing and claims, and compliance with internal procedures and external funding requirements.This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders, including non-finance colleagues. Key Duties Assist with the preparation of invoices, financial claims, and supporting documentation Monitor income and expenditure against budgets, identifying variances and potential issues Maintain accurate financial records within the finance system, ensuring data quality and completeness Support month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting Assist with forecasting and budgeting activities for projects and cost centres Help coordinate internal and external audits by preparing financial evidence and responding to queries Respond to routine financial queries from colleagues and external contacts Support continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting Undertake other finance-related duties in line with the role and team priorities What you'll need to succeed You will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a genuine interest in financial management and accounting. You enjoy working with data, resolving queries, and supporting others with clear financial information.
