Job Description
Position: Construction Support Manager – Electrical
Rate: £275 Inside IR35
Location: Croydon
Working Arrangements: 5 days on site
People Group are looking to recruit a Construction Support Manager from a Tier 1 Contractor or Client-side background to work for a leading rail consultancy.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the safe and successful delivery of the project's site works under his/her management, from the commencement on site to handover and completion.
* Support the construction manager when he/she is delivering their specific outputs and responsibilities.
* Plan and manage works of all disciplines to ensure compliance with the relevant standards, safety plans, ACOPs etc.
* Manage external and internal contractors/suppliers to deliver the works safely and within programme and budget.
* Investigate reported site construction and installation concerns from internal/external customers, the public, statutory undertakers, adjacent property owners etc., and implement driven actions to satisfy the safety case and promote good PR.
* Respond to emergencies involving construction and installation works, evaluate the problems, liaise, advise and implement agreed remedial works to minimise adverse consequences to the business.
* Examine options to address deficiencies in asset condition and make recommendations to fulfil the business needs.
* Ensure delivery of health and safety on site by the contractors.
* Maintain contract and project control systems to monitor works, programmes and costs, and produce daily shift reports.
* Maintain daily contact with staff to ensure activities are coordinated and requirements of TfL customers are met.
* Attend regular formal performance meetings with all parties to ensure all issues are being tackled and formulate a report to the construction manager.
* Ensure that the TfL and industry standards are applied consistently so that the quality of outputs is maintained.
Requirements
* Experience working with a Tier 1 contract or client-side.
* Experience working within the rail sector, preferably on tram projects.
* Bachelor’s degree/HND or similar in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
* SMSTS, PTS and CSCS card.
