Security Officer – Derby Magistrates Court (Derby)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 09:00–16:00
Rate: £12.21 per hour
Essential: Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence

Role Overview
As a Security Officer at Derby Magistrates Court, you will help protect staff, visitors, and assets by following the site's Assignment Instructions and maintaining a strong, visible security presence. You'll ensure the smooth running of security operations, deliver excellent service, and support contract performance through accountability and high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties
5. Follow all site Assignment Instructions and stay up to date with any changes
6. Maintain compliance with all policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements
7. Suggest improvements where you see opportunities to enhance service
8. Ensure all required licences (SIA Door Supervisor essential; CCTV PSS desirable) are valid and worn while on duty
9. Work methodically, follow procedures, and maintain a professional approach at all times
Training & Development
10. Complete all mandatory competency training
11. Embrace ongoing learning to support professional growth
12. Use on-site technology effectively and keep knowledge current
13. Ensure your licence is renewed at least 16 weeks before expiry
Security & Health & Safety
14. Stay alert to safety risks and report hazards immediately
15. Respond appropriately to threats or changes in the environment
16. Handle challenging situations with calm professionalism
17. Record detailed and accurate reports after incidents
18. Complete scheduled check calls as required and follow emergency procedures
What We're Looking For
19. Previous security experience
20. Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
21. CCTV PSS licence desirable
22. SC Clearance desirable
