Foundation Teaching Assistant Apprentice
Salary: £7.55 per hour in the first year of the apprenticeship, increasing in Year 2 in line with the National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage rates, dependent on age.
Contract Type: Fixed Term post for 15 months with the possibility of extension. Hours: Minimum of 16 hours per week.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our team at Awel y Mor Primary School. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in working with children or beginning a career in education.
As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will get hands-on experience in the classroom, working alongside friendly, experienced staff who will support you every step of the way. You will earn while you learn, build new skills and work towards a Level 2 Qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
Your Daily Routine Will Be
* Supporting children in the classroom
* Assist with setting up the classroom and resources
* Assist with planning learning activities and materials
* Implementing individual learning programs
* Keep accurate records and help to track students progress
The successful applicant will work towards a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools over a 15 month period. This qualification includes:
* On-the-job training, gaining practical experience within a school setting
* Work Based Tuition, provided by Neath Port Talbot College
* A digital literacy essential skills qualification
* Regular assessments and feedback to track progress and improve skills
You will have:
* Enthusiasm about working with children
* Strong Communication Skills
* Good Standard of Numeracy and Literacy
* The ability to work as part of a team
* GCSE English & Maths at grade D or above with the opportunity to work at these as part of the Essential Skills
