Senior ICT Consultant – Turn IT On
£30,000 - £35,000 – Full‑time, Birmingham, West Midlands.
Turn IT On is looking for an experienced ICT Consultant/Senior ICT Technician who is motivated and enthusiastic about technology. The ideal candidate has a natural flair for technology, a strong willingness to learn, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service to our clients.
Overview
This role involves supporting one of our schools as the liaison between the school and Turn IT On. You will keep the school informed about our products and services, manage customer accounts, and maintain IT hardware and software across the school sites. Your work will help the school improve its ICT provision and enable effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.
Responsibilities
* Handle 2nd/3rd line issues, respond to ICT emergencies and school complaints.
* Resolve and manage technical issues that impact school operations, providing robust solutions.
* Provide internal network support.
* Support and mentor 1st/2nd line staff.
* Enforce and monitor compliance with school policies.
* Deliver internal staff training.
* Lead installation or repair of computers, ensuring standardised applications and networking software are applied.
* Manage a wide range of technical duties related to the computer network and desktop services (desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns and hardware).
Qualifications & Skills
* Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Operating Systems.
* Virtualisation – particularly Hyper‑V.
* Cloud Technologies – Office 365 / Azure.
* Experience leading installations of servers and networks.
* Ability to make proactive decisions during ICT emergencies.
* Outstanding customer service and proactive communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Flexible, adaptable, friendly and approachable.
* Strong team player; capable of working independently and planning own time effectively.
The role is full‑time on a full‑year basis. Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS and safeguarding check, and must have access to a vehicle for driving between school sites.
