Improve International was established in 1998 by a group of veterinary surgeons from across the UK. We run Continuous Professional Development training from veterinary professionals to help develop the skills and knowledge required in practice. Our programmes utilise a combination of review lectures, case-based discussion and, where applicable, hands-on practical sessions. Within Improve we also have the function of ‘The International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS)’. This function is dedicated to providing veterinary surgeons, nurses and technicians with high quality, achievable qualifications that are recognised internationally. We are an international organisation with offices in the UK and Portugal. To manage and support ISVPS candidates progressing toward ISVPS awards. Implementation of examinations including supporting team members (for example, covering in their absence) and manage processes relating to examinations and assessments. Plan and prepare for examinations to a strict timeline Prepare examination papers while ensuring examination confidentiality and integrity is maintained Communicate assessment requirements and policies or procedures to examination candidates on accredited training programmes Support candidates during their assessment journey, issue examination results, and answer enquiries from examination candidates professionally. Determine candidate eligibility for awards, to include reviewing applications for a new award (with academic support) Process assessments for examiners Examination invigilation as required Manage candidate appeals and complaints (with support from Academic & Partnership Manager) Invite and maintain relationships with examiners Collaborate with training providers and partners to enhance candidate support and implement any changes in relation to specified awards. Analyse costs (and seek cost-effective options, where possible) Compile examination papers, for example, receive, review, and catalogue examination questions, liaise with specialist examiners to ensure suitable questions for each exam and maintain question pools. Attend meetings with line manager, team, and partner organisations, for example, to communicate projects and progress. Update relevant databases Provide feedback and activity reports Liaise with marketing and IT to ensure website content and literature is kept up to date Qualification in, or experience of the veterinary field are desirable, but not essential Academic qualification or experience in assessment or education desirable, but not essential Prior experience in customer service Meticulous attention to detail Competent IT skills, use of Microsoft Office software and ability to learn new systems Excellent communicator (written and spoken) Effective problem-solving abilities Self-motivated & autonomous with effective time management abilities Customer/client focus Good interpersonal skills (team worker, able to build and develop effective working relationships) Discretion when necessary Comfortable working remotely Sympathetic to organisation’s unique culture and values Flexibility within a rapidly evolving business Annual Leave Entitlement: UK 25 days increasing an additional day after 3 years of service and again by an additional day after 10 years service - to a total of 27 days per annum. Additional Leave: Office closure on the afternoon of the 24th December and the the afternoon of the 31st December each year. Pension: UK Employee 4% and Employer 5%. Base: Office based in Swindon with some hybrid working available.
