Main duties of the job
As a Bank Support Worker at Elysium Healthcare, you will join a team that works together to provide care and support for people with mental health conditions. Your experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker will be valuable in helping patients lead a valued and fulfilled life. The role can be challenging at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. However, it is also highly rewarding to see people improve and be able to do things they couldn't do before, thanks to your support. You'll have the freedom to choose which shifts you want to work each week, with 24/7 operation and 12.5-hour standard shifts available.

Whether you're looking for extra shifts to boost your income or a flexible job that fits around your lifestyle, if you're an experienced Healthcare Assistant in the UK you can join our staff bank and, after completing a paid two-week induction, you'll have access to available shifts at Wellesley Hospital in Wellington, plus the potential future option to work bank shifts regionally at other Elysium services across the region.
There is no minimum number of hours that you need to work, although it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.
Weekdays, nights and weekend shifts are regularly available, which are easy to view and book through an app. Within a few taps you'll have the shifts at Wellesley Hospital secured that you want.
Whether your nursing experience is from the NHS or private sector, you can join the team as a Bank Healthcare Assistant with an hourly rate that includes a 12.07% uplift to cover annual leave, plus have access to a range of benefits including free meals on duty, free parking and more.

The service operates 24/7 with 12.5 hour standard shifts. As a Healthcare Assistant on our bank you'll be on a zero hour contract, giving you the freedom to choose which shifts you want to work each week.

You will be working at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose built 101 bed hospital in Wellington (Somerset) for men and women with mental health needs.
There are 6 wards for people with mental health needs and 1 ward for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
The Wellesley Hospital built in 2017 works alongside Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Foundation Trust, Cornwall Foundation Trust, 2gether Foundation Trust, and Livewell to deliver the best possible environment for patients with mental health issues.
