Astute's Renewable Energy Team is working exclusively with a key player and well renowned market leader in the UK's solar sector. They own and operate a vast number of solar assets and we're now looking to add a Communications Technician / Expert to the team.The Communications Technician role comes with a salary up to £48,000, plus door to door overtime, a van and paid fuel amongst other benefits. Realistic overtime could see you earning an extra £15,000 ish with much of this due to the door to door pay.If you're a Communications Technician / Network Technician / Telecoms Engineer and are looking to work for an organisation where you can make a genuine difference, whilst growing personally and professionally, then submit your CV to apply today.Responsibilities and duties of the Communications Technician roleReporting to the Regional Lead you will:Provide (remote and on site) specialist support, service and maintenance on the Communications, Network and SCADA systems across a portfolio of assetsSupport the regional O&M teams, providing your communications specialism to help optimise the assetsContribute to the internal knowledge base in relation to communications and SCADA, mentoring O&M Technicians where possibleLook for and propose solutions for continuous improvements across the assets when it comes to communicationsSupport the relevant internal teams in developing API connections to new sites as requiredNational travel for business need with some overnight stays (which will gradually reduce as the team grows but in the shorter to medium term, there is a lot of travel)Professional qualificationsWe are looking for someone with the following:Fully qualified Electrician2391 is highly preferred but not essentialA recognised HSE qualification is preferredA clean UK driving licencePersonal skillsThe Communications Technician role would suit someone who is:Flexible and happy to travelExperience in networks, communications and integration to SCADASolar and/or BESS experience is highly preferred but not essentialExperience in working with HV switchgear and someone with inverter experience would be usefulSalary and benefits of the Communications Technician roleUp to £48,000 basic salary, depending on experienceOvertime rate of 1.5x hourly rateDoor to door payVan and paid fuelPension and holiday allowancePrivate healthcareLife insuranceOther company benefitsProfessional developmentLI-TN1INDRENAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
