Role: EHCP Coordinator

Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £29,870 and £39,696 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking an EHCP Coordinator to join our Additional Support department at The Bedford College Group.

As an EHCP Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

* Student Transition & Support – Facilitates smooth transitions into college for students with EHCPs, promotes early engagement, and supports progression aligned with individual aspirations.
* EHCP Monitoring & Review – Leads annual and termly reviews, prepares person-centred reports, and ensures EHCP outcomes are shared and tracked across curriculum areas to support student achievement
* Staff Training & Collaboration – Works closely with curriculum teams to raise awareness of EHCP needs, delivers training, and contributes to performance monitoring and self-assessment processes.
* Quality Assurance & Professional Practice – Conducts in-class observations, maintains statutory documentation, and builds effective relationships with students and staff within professional boundaries.
* College Engagement & Compliance – Participates in open days and promotional events, upholds safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety policies, and engages in ongoing training and development.

About you:

* Essential Qualifications & Sector Knowledge – Holds A Levels or equivalent, GCSEs (Grade A–C) in English and Maths, and a relevant graduate or vocational qualification in Education, Health or Social Sciences, with strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and post-16 education.
* Experience & Professional Practice – Experienced in supporting young people with SEND and EHCPs, leading multi-agency meetings, conducting annual reviews, and working within further education settings.
* Communication & Reporting Skills – Able to produce professional, concise reports, communicate effectively with students, families, and external agencies, and maintain confidentiality and safeguarding standards.
* Organisational & IT Competence – Demonstrates excellent planning, prioritisation, and record-keeping skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems used in education.
* Values-Driven & Flexible Approach – Works in line with college values, maintains professional boundaries, adapts to changing environments, and is willing to travel across sites and work occasional evenings.

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
