We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Manager to lead and enhance our safeguarding strategy and operations across the organisation.
The Safeguarding Manager will play a pivotal role in leading, managing, and developing safeguarding policies, procedures, and practice across BCHA. You will provide expert advice on safeguarding cases, ensure compliance with legislation, and promote best practice internally and externally. This role also includes embedding domestic abuse awareness and response pathways into frontline practice and safeguarding frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Safeguarding Leadership & Strategy
* Lead and manage organisational safeguarding policies, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Contribute to the delivery of BCHA’s safeguarding strategy and operational objectives.
* Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding cases to colleagues at all levels.
* Embed domestic abuse awareness and support pathways into organisational frameworks.
* Promote safeguarding across the organisation and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, including safeguarding boards and domestic abuse support services.
* Maintain specialist knowledge of safeguarding developments, guidance, and best practice.
* Lead internal safeguarding meetings, serious event reviews, and ensure learning is embedded across the organisation.
* Support and develop Safeguarding Champions, providing training and briefings to enhance frontline engagement.
* Analyse safeguarding data, identifying risks, trends, and emerging concerns, and produce reports for senior leadership.
Performance Management
* Support managers in improving safeguarding and risk management related to quality or performance.
* Use coaching and leadership skills to foster continuous improvement in safeguarding practice.
* Collaborate with the Project Manager to deliver internal audits, evidence service impact, and embed best practice.
Colleague Support & Training
* Design and deliver corporate safeguarding and domestic abuse training.
* Identify and deliver training in related areas, such as professional boundaries and risk management.
* Support out-of-hours safeguarding responses as required.
* Work collaboratively with Health & Safety and People & Culture teams to enhance safeguarding across the organisation.

Proven experience in safeguarding, including managing complex cases and developing organisational policies.
Strong knowledge of domestic abuse, safeguarding legislation, and best practice frameworks.
Excellent leadership, coaching, and influencing skills.
Ability to build effective relationships internally and externally.
Experience in training design and delivery for colleagues at all levels.
Strong analytical skills, with experience in data reporting and risk identification.
