Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Lancaster
Employment Type: Full-time (Fixed Term: January 2026 July 2026 est.)
Day Rate: £280 £300 per day (CIS)
Hours: 8:00am 5:00pm (unless otherwise instructed)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee day-to-day operations on a live site in Lancaster. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work confidently with tenants, subcontractors, and clients. A solid background in Health & Safety is essential, alongside the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships onsite.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all daily site activities and workforce coordination
* Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, tenants, and project stakeholders
* Build and maintain strong rapport with clients and onsite tenants
* Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
* Conduct regular site inspections and uphold H&S compliance
* Prepare and maintain accurate site records, including RAMS and daily logs
* Communicate clearly with all parties and manage expectations
* Lead site meetings and provide direction to onsite teams
* Monitor progress and report updates to senior management
* Assist with procurement planning and resource allocation
* Maintain quality control and ensure adherence to technical and contractual requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
* SSSTS (valid)
* CSCS card (essential)
* First Aid trained
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to engage tenants and build strong client relationships
* Experience in construction site supervision/management
* Strong understanding of construction processes and building regulations
* Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
* Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings
* IT-literate (e.g., MS Office, site reporting software)
* Experience working on Listed/Heritage building refurbishments
Desirable Skills & Experience (Highly Advantageous)
* Experience working on Listed/Heritage building refurbishments
* Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil works – ideal for someone confident navigating technical interfaces across multiple disciplines
