We are looking to recruit a Nursery Cook to join our friendly children's nursery. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a solo position and be required to prepare, cook, bake Healthy meals for up to 33 children aged 7 mths to 4 years paying close attention to the new Goverment Nutrition Guidance for Children 2025.
The role also involves ordering and stock control and cleaning of the kitchen including end of week routines on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Preparing meals and snacks in a hygienic and timely manner.
* Meal planning/menus and food ordering ensuring it is in line with the agreed catering budgets.
* Ensure that all children with dietary requirements/allergies are catered for in compliance with our company policy and Health & Safety requirements including completion of all required records.
* Maintain adequate stores and food stuffs in appropriate storage conditions.
* Carry out daily opening and closing checks.
* Ensure that all areas of the kitchen including all kitchen equipment are kept clean and orderly, carrying out all required cleaning duties, ensuring that all records are completed on time.
* Clean and defrost fridge and freezer at designated intervals when required.
* Observe high standards of food hygiene during the preparation, cooking and serving of all foods.
* Work in a safe and organised manner adhering to health & safety standards at all times.
* Maintain the Safer Food, Better Business documentation on a daily basis to comply with food safety management procedures and food hygiene regulations, including food/probe check temperatures etc.
* Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and personal appearance in accordance with the Company's hygiene policy.
* Possess a Level 2/3 Food Hygiene Certificate and/or undertake relevant training as required.
