About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quality, Compliance & HSE Manager to lead our product compliance, engineering standards, and quality systems. This role is vital in ensuring our products meet the highest standards while fostering robust business practices that align with our technical and strategic goals.
You will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to embed quality and compliance into the fabric of our product development and operational processes. You will also drive KPIs across R&D and manage key accreditations including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, ensuring audit readiness and ownership of the Quality Manual.
This role also encompasses leadership of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives, ensuring a safe and sustainable working environment through best practices and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead regulatory compliance, engineering standards, and product testing across the business.
* Ensure ongoing product conformance with regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
* Investigate non-compliance issues and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
* Track industry and regulatory changes, identifying risks and shaping strategy accordingly.
* Develop and implement best-practice engineering policies and quality processes.
* Oversee R&D compliance deliverables and support technical project execution.
* Contribute to engineering strategy, planning, and budget development.
* Manage ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and related accreditations, including audits and documentation.
* Lead Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives and ensure compliance with legislation (e.g. COSHH, RIDDOR).
* Conduct or oversee risk assessments and audits.
* Monitor compliance KPIs and evolve systems to meet changing requirements.
* Ensure new projects meet technical, legal, and commercial requirements.
* Coordinate external resources to support priority compliance projects.
* Promote environmental responsibility through practical sustainability strategies.
* Maintain accurate compliance records, registers, and documentation for audit readiness.
Requirements & Skills
* Proven experience in engineering compliance, ideally with electrical products.
* Solid understanding of CE, UKCA, and NRTL standards (e.g. CSA).
* Hands-on experience managing ISO 9001 and related quality systems.
* Background in regulated manufacturing, preferably in industrial electronics or refrigeration.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Degree in Engineering or Science preferred; equivalent experience considered.
* Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
