We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Chef to join our care home team. The role involves preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet residents' dietary needs, preferences, and medical requirements, while ensuring food is served in a safe, welcoming, and homely environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan, prepare, and cook daily meals in line with residents' dietary needs, preferences, and care plans (including allergies, soft diets, and medical restrictions).
· Create varied and seasonal menus that promote nutrition and enjoyment.
· Ensure portion control, presentation, and quality standards are maintained.
· Work closely with care staff to support residents with individual meal requirements.
· Order, receive, and manage food stock efficiently, minimizing waste and controlling costs.
· Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness in compliance with HACCP and CIW standards.
· Supervise and support kitchen assistants where required.
· Promote a positive dining experience and encourage residents' independence and choice.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a care, healthcare, or catering environment.
· Knowledge of nutrition, special diets, and allergen management.
· Ability to adapt menus and recipes to meet individual resident needs.
· Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
· Good communication skills and a caring, patient nature.
· NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery, Food Preparation, or equivalent (preferred).
· Food Hygiene Level 2/3 certification (required).

Pay: £12.21-£14.21 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 30 per week
