Abbey Lea is a beautiful care home that supports 23 residents.
We are looking for a cook who can prepare and serve food and beverages to Residents and visitors based on their needs and requests.
30 Hours per week, including alternate weekends.
Ideal candidate would have understanding of the IDDSI framework
Participate in resident feedback from meals served and preference of meals.
Maintain accurate records of food suppliers, freezer, fridge temperatures throughout the home and at times of serving food.
Have knowledge and experience of HACPP and be competent to document allergens in line with Food Standards Agency.
Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness to support the safe production and service of food
Show new colleagues the correct use of equipment and hygiene procedures, giving help and guidance where appropriate
Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen, food preparation areas and serveries is carried out effectively
Report to the Home Manager or Maintenance any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard
Training and development is provided.
