* Oversee and manage payroll processing for a portfolio of 130 clients, ensuring all payments—salaries, bonuses, and statutory deductions—are accurate and delivered on time
* Take a client-focused approach to payroll, building strong relationships and providing exceptional support
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of payroll administrators, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture
* Design and implement a fully digital, automated payroll system to create a seamless and stress-free experience for clients
* Stay informed on the latest payroll legislation, technology advancements, and industry best practices
* Work closely with the accounting team to ensure efficient integration of payroll data into client accounting software
* Develop a scalable payroll service that can be offered to businesses beyond our existing client base
* Develop and launch a comprehensive HR service for clients, focused on delivering best practices in: Recruitment, onboarding, employment contracts, employee record management, HR policies and procedures, holiday and absence management and learning and development initiatives
* Ensure full compliance with all relevant HR legislation, including GDPR and right-to-work requirements
* Work closely with the Head of Operations on internal HR initiatives, contributing to our vision of becoming the region’s leading employer

Skills & Experience

* A collaborative team player with a consistently positive and proactive attitude
* Results-driven, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work
* Confident in reviewing and signing off final payrolls with accuracy and assurance
* Skilled at building strong internal and client relationships, with the ability to influence and engage effectively
* Comfortable liaising with HMRC and other external bodies on behalf of clients
* Solid understanding of payroll within a general practice setting
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll and HR, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity
* In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC procedures, pension auto-enrolment, and employment law
* Proficient in digital payroll and HR systems, with experience using cloud-based accounting platforms
* Highly organised, with excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail
* Above all, passionate about delivering an exceptional client experience that truly impresses
