Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join a dynamic, forward-thinking regulated business in a senior, high-impact role. This position will lead on all UK employment law matters across the full employee life cycle, partnering closely with internal employment/HR teams and senior management.
The Role
You will take ownership of the end-to-end employment framework: from recruitment and onboarding through performance management, restructuring, and exits ensuring legal compliance while supporting strategic business objectives. This role offers a genuine opportunity to shape and refine policies, governance structures, and people processes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise on the full spectrum of UK employment law matters across the employee life cycle (some possible European projects).
* Partner with HR and senior leadership to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused solutions.
* Lead on complex employee relations issues, investigations, disciplinaries and exits.
* Oversee restructures, redundancy programmes and organisational change projects.
* Draft, review and implement employment contracts, policies and handbooks.
* Input into and enhance internal policies, controls and people frameworks.
* Manage employment-related regulatory and risk matters (regulated sector experience highly advantageous).
* Oversee and, where required, manage external counsel.
Candidate Profile
* UK Qualified employment lawyer with significant post-qualification experience (in-house and/or private practice).
* Strong experience across the full employee life cycle.
* Experience with FCA essential
* Demonstrable gravitas and confidence to lead processes and advise senior stakeholders.
* Commercially astute, solutions-driven and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience within a regulated environment is highly desirable.
