Are you an experienced Labour Ward Midwife with a passion to promote personalised maternity care, proved effective management and leadership?
Due to maternity leave an exciting opportunity has arisen to come and work as a shift co-ordinator on out busy Labour Ward, and become part of a supportive leadership team at Jessops.
You will work closely with the Maternity Matron and MDT Team and also provide clinical and managerial leadership.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of Labour Ward, acting as the key point of contact for staff, members of the multidisciplinary team and service users. Ensuring the 24 hour provision of high quality, effective midwifery service, providing leadership to staff and expert clinical midwifery advice.
Manager midwifery and support staff and the clinical area to ensure the smooth running of the service,
Work in partnership with women, and ensure the planning and implementation of individualised plans of care.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.
Please also note any secondment must first be agreed with your current line manager.
All existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis.

Essential criteria
1. NMC registered
2. To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998
3. Continuous professional development
4. First degree or evidence of working towards one (demonstrating graduate attributes)
Experience

5. Extensive Midwifery experience in all areas.
6. Knowledge of current national guidelines, policies and initiatives such as NICE, the Confidential Enquiries and the National Maternity Review.
7. Knowledge of clinical audit and effectiveness of systems.
8. Ability to lead, motivate and develop a professional team.
9. Ability to prioritise and work as a team member.
10. Leadership skills
11. Academic courses relevant to role in leadership/management. (NLS, NIPE, Evidence of management experience, leadership course)
