Senior Employment Counsel - London
Overview:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Employment Lawyer to join on a 6–12 month contract. This role will play a key part in supporting a high-profile, complex transformation project within a public sector setting.
The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of public sector (ideally Civil Service), consulting, and private practice experience, and will play a key role in navigating sensitive legal and organisational challenges.
The role:
Manage a varied caseload of both contentious and non-contentious matters, including complex internal disputes and sensitive investigations. Provide advice on policy development, organisational restructures, and business transfers. Handle discrimination issues, settlement agreements, and contractual matters, while liaising with external legal counsel on employment tribunal claims.
Must be able to work independently, confidently, efficiently and problem solve.
Candidate Profile:
* England & Wales Qualified Employment Lawyer with significant post-qualification experience
* Background in: Public sector work (preferably Civil Service), consulting environments or private practice
* Proven ability to independently manage a full caseload
* Experience handling complex, sensitive, and high-risk employment matters
* Confident, efficient, and highly organised
