Part-time Kitchen Cook Position
* Based in Easton Maudit, NN29 7NR.
* 16 hours per week; Monday to Thursday from 2pm-6pm.
Role Overview
* To manage the kitchens day to day requirements ensuring that the residents eat well and have a healthy balanced diet.
* Plan a 4-weekly seasonal menu for 2 evening meals to be cooked. Shopping orders to be completed and take full ownership of the kitchen.
* Prepare and cook all food to the highest possible standard and in line with the residents' dietary needs.
* Present and serve all meals in a professional, appetising and appropriate way.
* Clear and 'clean down' after all meals.
* Assist in keeping the whole kitchen area clean and tidy in line with Hygiene, Health and Safety Standards
* Ensure all Health and Safety, COSHH, RIDDOR and Food Hygiene practices are always observed and maintained
* Order, check in and record all stock deliveries as and when necessary. Ensure a robust stock control system is in place.
* Report any damages and/or defects of equipment and premises to the Management Team.
* Have an awareness and understanding of equal opportunities.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* This post will require satisfactory clearance of an enhanced disclosure and barring service certificate.
* Literate and numerate, having attained a good level of education.
* Undertake all mandatory and developmental training.
Experience and Knowledge
* Knowledge of basic health, safety, and hygiene standards.
* Hold a food hygiene certificate.
* Evidence of competence in and a commitment to personal and professional development.
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment as a Cook or Chef.
Ability and Skills
* Good level of interpersonal and communication skills.
* The ability to deal with people of all temperaments.
* The ability to work to a daily routine with a flexible approach.
* Work as a member of a team.
