Position Overview
The Learning Mentor plays a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of all our pupils and is integral to ensuring the flourishing and inclusion of those with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND). This position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and is committed to helping students achieve their full potential. The Learning Mentor will work closely with individual pupils and small groups, providing tailored interventions and support to enhance their learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement tailored interventions to support individual and small groups of pupils.
* Monitor and assess pupils’ progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
* Collaborate with tutors, pastoral staff, and parents to enhance the educational experience and support each pupil’s learning journey.
* Contribute to creating a stimulating and positive learning environment, sharing best practices within the department.
Ideal Candidate
* Holds a degree or post-18 qualification, with good GCSEs in Maths and English.
* Has experience working with young people, including those with SEND.
* Has good awareness and ideally qualifications related to commonly occurring learning profiles and their support needs (e.g. dyslexia).
* Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage pupils.
* Demonstrates a proactive approach to supporting pupils and a commitment to their wellbeing.
