Overview
Our client is looking for a strong Senior Site Manager to join a premier Tier 1 Contractor. This is an opportunity to take a leadership role on significant commercial developments around Leicester.
Responsibilities
* Operational Leadership: Managing the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring all works are executed in accordance with the construction programme and technical specifications.
* Sub-contractor Management: Coordinating various trade packages, chairing weekly progress meetings, and ensuring all sub-contractors adhere to rigorous quality and safety standards.
* Health, Safety and Environment: Maintaining an impeccable safety record on-site. Implementing RAMS, site inductions, and ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
* Quality Control: Driving a Right First Time culture; oversee quality inspections, manage the snagging process, and ensure final handover meets Tier 1 expectations.
* Commercial Awareness: Working with the surveying team to monitor variations, manage site costs, and identify risks to the budget or timeline.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact for architects, engineers, and the client, providing regular updates on milestones and technical challenges.
Required Experience and Qualifications
* Proven time served in a Site Management role, specifically on high-value commercial projects for a Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 contractor.
* Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern construction methods, structural steel, RC frames, and high-end fit-out requirements.
* Certifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme); CSCS Black Card ideally; First Aid at Work.
* Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (preferred but not essential with relevant experience).
* Software Literacy: Proficiency in project management software (such as Aconex, Procore, or Field View) and a solid grasp of Microsoft Project or ASTA Powerproject.
* Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
